The story 'Reflections', by the writer, and New York theater producer Devlin Elliott, has been the winner of this fifth edition in which 43,185 stories entered from 179 countries. They have also been awarded the Mexican author Tere de las Casas Mariaca, for her story in Spanish "El paso"; the Moroccan Mohamed Haddach, for his "Olive Rod" in Arabic language; and the Israeli Noam Shalit, for her story  “Touch”in Hebrew .

The President of Castilla-La Mancha thanked for the César Egido Serrano Foundation designation of the Fuensalida Palace, headquarters of the region´s presidency, for the delivery of these awards and "The will and intention" of them, highlighting the intention to promote "The word as a concept of dialogue, as a method to resolve conflicts ".
In his speech, César Egido Serrano has stated that "We live in the century of understanding." And he has stressed that the word "Must be the tool of peace, against violence, and discord." Egido concluded by saying that "Castilla La Mancha is a land of harmony, peace and cordiality".

The winner, Devlin Elliot, has stated that "Words have power: They can inspire and ignite passions, and they can also provoke fear and anger." Therefore, it is everyone's job, as human beings, to realize that we are not divided by imaginary lines between continents, but united by humanity inherent to all".
