The President of Castilla - La Mancha, José María Barreda, will attend tomorrow, Monday, at the opening of the Museo de la Palabra, in the town of Quero (Toledo), an act that will be broadcast via the Internet and during which there will also be awards of I Certamen de Spanish short story. The location in the Museo de la Palabra Quero is due to that this town is the place of birth of César Egido, patron-founder of the foundation that bears his name and owner of the Palace that houses the Museum. The Fundación César Egido Serrano is a private non-profit, independent and funded by their own means, because it does not receive nor requested subsidies from public or private bodies. Its main purpose is to promote coexistence between different civilizations and cultures, and aspires to that dialogue and the Word will become the only way to resolve conflicts. In addition, claims a utopian vision of the world according to the reading of Don Quixote, and considers it necessary to spell out the utopia, defend it and promote it. In this way, the Museo de la Palabra is articulated as the main tool of the Fundación César Egido Serrano for the achievement of its purposes. It is not actually a museum space, since in him nothing is displayed, but is a space of encounter and reflection that supports and encourages dialogue between different cultures, ideas, religions and sensibilities. The building is a mansion of the 18th century, about 1,350 square meters, which has been recently renovated, respecting its traditional La Mancha architecture. It has 15 bedrooms, 6 meeting rooms, 2 libraries, and 2 conference rooms, among others. (Source: the fence)
