The FAPE announces the II edition of the “Premio Palabra” Prize that recognizes those who promote coexistence through words and dialogue.

The parents of Leopoldo López receive the award from the President of the Foundation and the President of FAPE during the award ceremony of the first edition.

FAPE and the Foundation have created this new journalistic prize in order to promote and enhance in society the value of words and dialogue as a key element of coexistence, and promote awareness about ethics and the importance of public interest and the talent that underlies and is projected from the media, as the basis and foundation of the democratic system.

To participate, the convening institutions, professional associations of journalists, the media, faculties and professionals of information can send nomination proposals. Applications may also be submitted freely on an individual basis. The proposal must be accompanied by a motivation and adequate justification of the merits of the application.

The Jury will be formed jointly, by FAPE and the César Egido Foundation, and will consist of a president, a vice-president and five members, professionals of recognized prestige in the field of media and the culture sector.

The Jury will choose the winner among the nominations submitted for the award and, exceptionally, may evaluate the proposals presented by its members before beginning the deliberations. A winner will be decided by the majority of the votes cast and the winner will receive 10,000 Euros and a certificate of accreditation.
