Faced with the coincidence of its aims, FAPE and the Fundación César Egido Serrano have signed the agreement creating this new journalistic prize, it's purpose will be to promote the value of the word as a key element of coexistence, ethics, the importance of public interest and the talent that underlies and projects from the media as the basis and foundation of the democratic system.
A prize annually of 10,000 USD will be awarded and will be convened by FAPE and the Foundation. The jury will be designated by FAPE and the award may fall to one or more persons, as well as an institution that responds to the goals pursued by the Foundation and FAPE.
The objective of the César Egido Serrano Foundation, with which FAPE signs this agreement, is the international dissemination of an idea: "The word as a tool to link humanith against all violence." This means making an effort to make words and dialogue become the only weapon of conflict resolution to pursue the promotion of dialogue and culture among peoples different opinions or beliefs.
