Quixote. Second part. Chapter 14.

“I won’t be so impolite and inconsiderate, so with who I have eaten and drank have any conflict whatsoever; so been without rage or anger that like devil is going to fix a quarrel?”
15/06/2010

These words directed by the well instructed Sancho from the Second Part from Quixote (Chapter 14) to his colleague the squire from the Knight from the Forrest, expressing a truth worthy of a genuine sane man. Already the classical Greeks knew the extraordinary importance of sitting down to eat and drink together to deal with success, in the kindness and importance of a shared banquet (literally, a symposium), the mayor themes of policy, strategy and morality. The peaceful dialogue between humankind, produced in circumstances away from rage and anger is probably the most human act. Nobody argues without a reason, like the Cervantes squire points out. The “logos”, the word, is the pacific bond of humanity, the meeting point between human beings

Toledo, the province where the Museum headquarters are is the paradigm of understanding between cultures, the ideal from coexistence, the metaphor of that the word and Concordia are possible. Toledo is been a pacific melting pot of three cultures.

In the heart of Quixote, César Egido Serrano has built and maintains at its expense a Renaissance trace Palace, Castilian roots with universal vocation to dialogue. It is in the place where the paths of the adventures of Don Quixote started, with permanent welcome will to whatever communication adventures try to set up a wider world, with more dialogue. A meeting point for the Civilisations Alliance. Is there as that permanent seat of a Foundation as the useful tool for complex society of the 21 st Century.

Set in the heart of the Cervantine geography –a bit more of an hour from Madrid- It has all the adequate infrastructures to achieve the Foundation aims. In the Museum of the Word nothing is exhibited. The truly museum art will be the one that comes up from communication from people of different cultures, beliefs or civilizations.
